Home Video Game Machine, PlayStation (Sony)
Sony Entertainment launched a home video game machine "PlayStation"
in December,1994. "PlayStation" made clear distinctions from previous
video game machines in its superior performance and game software quality.
"PlayStation" adopted leading edge digital electronics technologies
and took the initiative of technology evolutions in the early stage of multimedia
era. "PlayStation" promoted technology innovations in microprocessors
and computer graphics, and created and expanded the new market for such
leading edge technology products. 32-bit RISC processor and graphic processor
(GPU) were the processing engines of@"PlayStation" game machine,
and CD-ROM was the media for application software.
